Remember How To Be A Child.

I am sitting in the lunch room with my son the other day and I am watching him interact with the other kids and as a means to show him affection I leaned over and told him. Son remember to enjoy the moments you have today and gave him a kiss.

He then gave me the look that as parents we all dread and you know what it is the one where they glare at you like mom or dad what are you talking about ? Then it hit me that what I had said means nothing to him because kids already live that way they don't worry about the future, and barely know the past exist. They are truly an example of living in the present. I mean have you ever met a child that said man how am I gonna pay the mortgage, or how are we gonna eat, I have to pick up stuff from the cleaners, etc. Of course not and we tell them they shouldn't have to yet we don't free ourselves from it when we can.

As parents we sometimes get caught up in being the teacher but the first rule of learning is always being open to learn and we tend to forget that with our children and how they can teach us so much. As adults we tend to become a big ball of our perceptions about people and situations instead of using perception in the way it was meant to be used it became the thing that blocks us from appreciating all life has to offer.

Now I am not saying all perceptions are wrong there is truly some purpose for their use but we are not suppose to let them be the ruler of our lives however it is easy to forget this and therefore we forget what our children have yet to learn and that is this. The only moment we have is right now and making that now moment the best minute to minute day to day will become the life we one day look back on. That the moment your making right now in 10 min will be your past and 5 minutes before it happened was your future. Growing up I heard the following statement "Dom don't grow up to fast you have your whole life to be an adult" I didn't know what that meant until now and honestly I have to disagree with you mom there are parts of my childhood I am happy to reconnect with. This entry is an example of one of them. See you don't have to give up being a child you have to give up childish behaviors and that makes it ok to focus on the now and add some playfulness to this thing called life.

So I encourage all of you to take a few moments today and be a kid again your soul will appreciate you for it and you may find you like what you see when you take a moment to connect with yourself.

Managing Reistance

Recently I have taken on a very interesting challenge I have made a personal commitment to minimizing and removing additional pain from my life and the lives of those that I interact with. This decision is part of a greater picture. To most people what I just said is a very daunting challenge and I totally understand why it feels impossible because I understand the level of thinking that the collective majority resides in. I use to reside their too and I never felt to bad about it because it is not until you realize their is a better way, a different perspective can you begin to look for a different way.

How does something like this happen?

It happens with pain once you reach a certain level of suffering or pain depending on your word choice you snap something in you gives way and forms a decision making point and a choice will be made that will change how you view life forever. This can be either a positive or negative choice which is the subject of an entirely different conversation but a choice is made.

So knowing that you have to have a enough pain in your life to change anything also know that is not the only way to create change you can use your awareness and just make a choice which sounds so easy right ? It isn't not even when you know you should. Understand there is nothing wrong with any of this or with you and how you feel about it. If you are looking for more balance in your life though this is one way of getting that.

So here is what I am doing to stop adding to the cycle of pain that is in my life.

Acceptance Of Life Situations

Oneness

Expanding My Personal Understanding of Me.

When you accept life situations for what they are which is a situation you are having in your life and allow them to be just that a situation you can learn and gather information from it removes resistance and allows for you to approach things from a place of understand and clarity which is needed to create a positive outcome. You also eliminate energy loss caused by resisting what is. The second concept of oneness is simple everyone is the same we may have different forms but what is inside is all the same and while some people use emotions and reactions that you may not they still have the same emotions and reactions that you have and when you remove the vail that separates you from them you allow compassion in. The last piece is the hardest of the three it is understanding why and what causes you to react the way you do to people, and life situations. See our reactions to things are a great indicator of our own personal fears, insecurities, issues, etc. It is usually a reflection of our own conflict about a situation the more you know why you are feeling the way you do when you react to people or things the easier it will be to remove the resistance that blocks the love, compassion. With resistance gone so shall pain be removed and your more likely to make choices that generate as minimal pain as possible.

I plan on none of this being easy but I feel that it is a step in the direction of making my life better and making the lives of those around me better and that makes it all worth it.

Mind Control Get Some

Title sounds a bit scary huh? Well it isn't actually not as much as one would believe. I learn the most important lesson that I can pass along about being afraid of anything.

Knowledge is one of the main eliminators of fear meaning we fear what we don't know based off of our preconceptions well when you challenge that with knowledge you eliminate part of the fear and in some cases all of it.

The reason I started off this article in this way is simple the majority of people have a fear of their mind and don't even know it they walk around feeling powerless to the world that is around them. I am here to debunk that myth you have all the power you will ever need right in-between your ears. The problem is not that you don't have what you need it is that you don't know how to control your state of mind on your demand it happens to you daily but from outside sources.

One of the easiest reference points for this is advertising is it a coincidence that certain products make you feel a advertiser certain way? No but most likely until now this has not been pointed out to you. Advertisers know more about the way your brain works than you do and actually use that to their advantage, but what if you became your own advertiser?

For an example of exactly how your brain can focus and manifest things I want you to do the following

  • Close your eyes (after reading the rest of the instructions)
  • Open your eyes and find 10 red things in the room your in.
  • Now do the same thing with the colors blue and green.

So you should now know at least your brain can help you to see the things you want if you direct it to. So let's make this a little more practical by giving you some information on how your brain filters things. The main source for filtering is based of two concepts pleasure and pain. At the root of all of your choices are those motives. You are looking to get pleasure and avoid pain.

Lastly you have to perform key actions that will result in the state of mind you are in at any given moment. If your sad there are factors that go into making you sad as it is not a disease you catch. When was the last time someone told you that they were having a case of sadness ? and it should be cleared in a week or so. they haven't because that doesn't make sense to do that.

So here are three things to better mind control

  • The power of focus you can change how you feel by changing what you focus on.
  • Pleasure and Pain are always your underling motives for why you choose to do something
  • What actions go into your state of mind at any given moment?
Learn these and you will learn how to change your mood by using the right set of actions. To learn more about the topic I discussed today check out the following links here and here.

Were All Human

I had some realizations occur this weekend and I wanted to share them. Now the things you read here are not things I have not said before or explained how to do. The purpose of this post is to say I am not something special nor am I above the things I teach. The things I am talking about are this Never allow anyone to take your control. Live your life with humility. See that wasn't so bad now was it? Since we were younger we have all been told something similar to the two sentences above. If that is the case why don't we do them ? Well I can only answer that for myself when I say that it is to fall into old patterns. Even with all that I know it happens and will continue until I generate the leverage to prevent it. Case in point is me giving away my control I had a personal event that allowed me to do just that and create a great deal of unneeded stress and trouble most importantly I lost access to someone I love dearly. When I look at the situation I realized there were moments that I had the opportunity to do things differently but did not because of my natural condition to go with the familiar. This cost me a price that I was not willing to pay and because of my level of commitment to my self development I know that I will not allow myself to reach the point of total loss of control again. There comes a time in your live when the stakes are to high to make bad judgment calls. When are they too high for you ? If you can identify those moments before hand you can be proactive and make better choices. As for the humility I learned a very simple notion know matter how much knowledge you have you can not impress your views on anyone even if they happen to helpful or correct. If you do this it should easy to correct just stop trying to convince people to like you or do what you say. God Bless Amen

What's With The Name ?

So what's up with this crazy name? Well after carefull consideration I thought it would be worth my time to let my readers know why. So here is the story after careful thought about what to call my little slice of the universe I determined that in our lives we are all looking for direction,a sense of purpose, and we sometimes wonder aimlessly well into the days until we except we are lost then what is the first thing we say ?
I wish I had GPS or where's my GPS when I needed it ?
Well this is the same concept as the name implies we are aimless wondering around in our lives without knowing what is guiding us and one day (usually close to the end) we wake up and realize that the course of action we have been taking is not anywhere near the destination we wanted to be at or we arrive at the destination and still feel lost. I want this blog to be a wakeup call to help us all find our path sooner than later. A place where hope and inspriation lives and where we can all find our GPS  so if needed we can course correct. So when it is all said and done you can know that  your destination was reached. Below are some questions to use as a guide to start your thought process.
Questions to ask yourself
  • What do I truely want and am I on track to reach this goal?
  • What possible pitfall or obstacles are ahead?
  • Will have company on the journey that is life?
Take a few moments and answer the questions if nothing more than for fun and plus a little fun never hurt.
God Bless You
